Terms of Service
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Noor website, the Noor web app and the Noor mobile apps ("Noor"). By creating an account or using Noor, you agree to these Terms.

2. Our service
Noor is a free service offering Islamic educational content, including the Quran, recitations, tafsir, hadith, duas, stories and tools such as prayer times, the qibla direction and nearby mosques. Using Noor is free of charge. We may develop, change or discontinue individual features, taking your legitimate interests into account.
3. User accounts
Noor's content is suitable for all ages. Some features require an account. To create an account you must be at least 16 years old; younger users need the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Parents or guardians can contact [email protected] to have a child's account deleted. You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information
- Keeping your password confidential
- Keeping your account secure and informing us of any misuse
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Noor or other accounts
- Disrupt or overload the service
- Submit harmful, offensive or unlawful content (for example in content reports or support messages)
- Use Noor in an automated way (for example scraping) without our permission
5. Religious content
Noor provides Islamic educational content from trusted sources. It does not replace the guidance of qualified scholars. Please consult qualified scholars for personal religious rulings or advice.
6. AI answers
The AI assistant and smart search generate answers automatically. These answers may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not religious rulings (fatwa). Please verify important information against the original sources and with qualified scholars. Do not enter sensitive personal information.
7. Third-party content and sources
Some texts, translations and recitations are provided by third parties (for example Quran audio and content providers). The rights to this content remain with the respective rights holders. We are not responsible for the availability of third-party services.
8. Intellectual property
The Noor name, logo, design, software and original content are protected. You may use Noor for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reproduce or distribute our content without permission, unless permitted by law.
9. Donations
Donations to Noor are voluntary and are processed by Stripe. A donation is a gift and does not entitle you to any service in return. Donations are generally non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law. [PLACEHOLDER: donation and refund details, if needed]
10. Availability
We strive to keep Noor available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, for example during maintenance or due to technical problems beyond our control.
11. Liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).
For slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of essential contractual obligations, i.e. obligations whose fulfilment is necessary for the proper provision of the service and on which you may regularly rely. In this case our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract.
Otherwise, our liability is excluded. These limitations also apply to the personal liability of our representatives and agents.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may change these Terms for valid reasons, for example due to legal changes or new features. We will inform you of changes at least 30 days before they take effect, by email or in the app. You may object to the changes within this period. If you do not object, the changes will be deemed accepted; we will point this out to you specifically in our notification. If you object, you may continue to use Noor under the previous Terms, or we may end the user relationship with effect from the date the changes take effect.
13. Termination and account deletion
You can stop using Noor and delete your account at any time, from the app settings or via our account deletion page. We may suspend or delete accounts that seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country in which you have your habitual residence.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is or becomes invalid, the remaining provisions remain unaffected.
